Tier 1 Supplier
Tier 1 Supplier or First Level Supplier, is a provider with enough technical, human and financial power to be able to offer large set of components and with high added value in terms of design and engineering.
Following global trends in the industry, builders are reducing the number of suppliers with whom they maintain direct contact, so that it is first level suppliers who negotiate and deal with supplies of secondary and tertiary levels. In this way having one or more first level providers in the region becomes a strategic objective, and the way to achieve that goal is the reason this Working Group exists.
