Located in the northeast of the Municipality of Leganes, and only 6 km from the city center of Madrid, is a large area of vacant land surrounded by powerful communication infrastructures.
The park is the part that connects the two towns in an urban continuum thanks to residential developments throughout the area. This proximity is determined not only by physical closeness but also by the connection between the two cities. The radial nature of infrastructures in Spain provides easy access from Madrid to anywhere in the Iberian Peninsula.
Infrastructure
The park is at the center of the network of roads around Madrid, ensuring ideal accessibility by all modes of transport.
Road infrastructure
The northern boundary of the project is made by the M-40, an expressway from the Madrid conurbation linking directly with other major infrastructures such as Madrid Transport Center, various industrial areas, Coslada Transport Center, the Madrid-Barajas international airport, Parque Ferial Juan Carlos I and the high quality residential areas in the west. This limit is determined by the A-42, which is only 6 km from the historical center of the capital. The southern boundary is determined by the M-45 (the third most important high-capacity ring road of the metropolitan area of Madrid), the M-425 and the Ronda road leading to the town of Leganes. There is also new infrastructure, such as the R-5 radial motorway to Portugal.
Railway
The high-speed train to Seville, Valladolid, Barcelona, Malaga and soon to France and Valencia, is only 6 km away. The radial nature of the Spanish rail network allows fast connection to any point in Spain.
Airports
The international Madrid-Barajas airport, one of the top five airports in Europe, is just15 km from the park. Cuatro Vientos Airport is also located beside the park, dedicated to private flights, sport and public services.
Public Transportation
The excellent public transport network will also provide service to the park:
- A regional railway network, linking with other major towns in the south of Madrid and the capital itself.
- Underground trains via Metro South, a new 40km-long ring-shaped Madrid Metro line with 27 stations linking the five largest towns in the South of Madrid, serving a million people.
- A dense network of lines and intercity buses.
