Funding
Aerospace is a complex and innovative sector in which R & D plays a key role. This sector is characterized by the enormous economic scope and long life of its projects, and for long-term returns on investment. Due to these significant economic investments, adequate funding is essential, and therefore this working group is focused both on the analysis of existing financial sources and vehicles, and on the search for appropriate sources to meet the specific needs of this sector, both in terms of financing specific projects or actions and those of the companies themselves.
These financial needs become even more obvious and important in the case of SMEs, whose financial capabilities are more limited and whose dependence on sector-driving companies with high demands is very high. The time to create and develop companies in this sector, whose need for investment and payback is higher than in other sectors, is another critical factor requiring adequate funding.
The ultimate goal of this working group is to find and develop the tools needed to make opportunities in the aerospace industry economically viable, enabling the planning and development of projects covering a whole variety of funding sources and alternatives depending on the development phase of each project and the characteristics of each business model.
